Life Coaching
When clients first approach me for life coaching, they generally know that they are not happy with the way things are at the moment, but they don’t know what to do about it to make things better…
… I’m unhappy in my job, but I don’t know what career I want to follow
… I spend many hours commuting and feel guilty that I never see my children
… I’m fed up in employment, but nervous about taking the plunge and setting up on my own
… I have no life plan – every year I’m in the same position – I feel stuck in a rut
… I don’t have the confidence or self esteem to make any important life changing decisions
… My children have grown up and I need to look at this new stage of my life
If any of the above sound familiar, then life coaching will help.
The treadmill of life…
In our modern lives, we are faced with endless choices and mounting pressures. We feel we are always busy, always on the treadmill, but never seeming to get anywhere in the important areas of our life.
Clients I work with often say after our coaching sessions, “Why is it that we don’t take the time to take stock of our lives?”. The answers are usually that we are too busy worrying, earning a living and pouring our energy into ‘survival’ rather than living a fulfilling life. Often, we don’t even believe that change is possible.
This is where life coaching comes into its own. Life coaching helps you to see that you can make a change, that you can be positive, that you can achieve your goals and ultimately, that you can lead a fun and fulfilling life.
Quality time life planning is essential
All too often, we don’t spend enough time thinking about what we want and planning our lives accordingly. Before we know it, time has whizzed by and we’re still stuck exactly in the same place.
We tend to ‘fall into’ adulthood and go with the flow, imagining our education is over. But we’re learning all the time – learning from our experience and mistakes. If things aren’t working out as you had hoped or imagined, now is the time to do something positive about it.
Self-help books can help but we often become self-help book addicts – always looking for the next quick fix, the ‘instant cure’. But the huge self-help books market exists simply because we don’t action what we read. We don’t put into practice what we are learning, yet we avidly buy the next book, and the next one, and the next – adding to our collection of inspiring reads, yet never using the inspiration to make positive changes.
Life coaching enables you to put down the latest self-help book and to actually make a positive impact on your life, once and for all.
Life coaching has many benefits
The benefits that you can achieve with life coaching really depend on what is important to you, but some of the areas that you can expect to achieve include:
- Helping to increase your confidence and assertiveness
- Helping you to control your work-life balance
- Helpng you to manage your workload through effective time management
- Providing you with the support, encouragement and motivation that you need to make life changing decisions
- Helping you to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be
- Providing mapped out steps for you to follow to help improve your life
- Being able to hit the ground running when starting a new job or venture
During your life coaching, we will take a look at what is holding you back, what is missing, what worries you have or what issues are causing you stress. We will take the time to explore what is important to you and what you really enjoy, who you are and what your unique talents are.
We then put all the pieces together to look at what you really want in life. We explore options for the way forward and map out steps for you to follow. Throughout the whole process, I provide the tools, support, inspiration and motivation to help you get to where you want to be.
Investing in yourself will be the most beneficial and rewarding move you can make to help you lead the life you want to lead.
